Please remember the Japanese Faith Course is a discussion centered experience. I am not a teacher who is telling you what to think or how to live. I am coming to you in humility, simply sharing some observations in hopes of opening a dialogue. My observations are not "right," they are a launching point to discussing a vastly interesting and challenging topic.
日本の信仰のコースは、議論を中心としたレッスンであることを覚えておいてください。私はあなたに何を考え、どのように生きるのかを教える教師ではありません。私は謙虚な姿勢で、あなたの会話のきっかけになればと願って、いくつかの考察を共有しているだけです。私の意見は「正しい」ものではなく、非常に興味深く挑戦的な話題を議論するための出発点でしかありません。
Therefore, my hope is that you hear my observations with an open curiosity, and discuss them with friends and family. It would be best to gather a few people, play the short video, and use the questions below to generate a free discussion of ideas.

1. One might say, “Okay, Pastor Randy, so what? What if it’s true that Japanese culture is a better fit to Jesus’ teachings than the west, what is the point you are trying to make?” I would reply, “I’m not sure. I just want to talk about it. What does this mean to you? Is this relevant to your life?”
1. ある人は、「ランディ牧師、だからどうした？もし、日本の文化が西洋よりもイエスの教えに合っているのが本当だとしたら、あなたが言いたいことは何ですか？" と言うかもしれません。私はこう答えるでしょう。私はただ、それについて話したいだけです。あなたにとって、これはどういう意味があるのですか？
2. It is universally known that living by Jesus’ teachings is hard to do. He knew it too, which is why He encouraged everyone to trust in Him to provide the strength, guidance and joy to live in His will and ways. Yet, the Japanese are stoically doing their best, without Jesus’ strength. Most Japanese are doing the hard part (living by wa, giri, etc.) and rejecting the easier part (accepting His forgiveness, power and joy)! For you personally, why not accept His help? Or, if you have, why do you think other Japanese don’t take His offer to help?
イエスの教えに従って生きることが難しいことは、誰もが知っていることです。イエスもそれを知っていたからこそ、御心と方法に沿って生きるための力と導きと喜びを与えてくださるイエスに信頼するよう、すべての人に勧めたのです。しかし、日本人はイエスの力を借りずに、ストイックにベストを尽くしている。多くの日本人は、難しい部分（和や義など）をやって、簡単な部分（赦し、力、喜びを受け入れること）を拒否しているのです あなた個人は、なぜ主の助けを受け入れないのですか？あるいは、もし受け入れたとしたら、なぜ他の日本人は神の助けを受け入れないと思いますか？
